Fair Lady, dear elf-queen,
Mistress of the Master
of water, wood and hill;
dance down to the rushes.

Sing for me your sweetness

A nectar of green leaves
and silver beads
fall from your gown
of emerald green.

Let me bathe with you, my pretty,
down deep again
along the forest water.

Let my body lie prone
atop a shoreless pool,
and let me drown
within the down
and white wool

of sleep.

Quite well done!
Though I've never been too good
at adapting to the fantasy world,
I stillhave great respect for the work,
and can recognise an awesome write when I see it.
This is lovely

Nice to see you and also you honoring The Hobbit, and Lord Of The Rings.  He has to be one of my favorites, as are you.  Tell Billy his art is awesome - only got it middle of January can you believe that!  Love it!

Thank you everyone for being so kind.  I have finally read Lord of the Rings and will pain you with my writings from that.  I have missed all of you.

ice, that is beautiful up there, I am enchanted with the Elves myself and your words are far beyond anything I claim to be, but thank you, sir.
I was writing of Goldberry and Tom Bombadil from the Fellowship.

And you thought no one would understand this...

The trick, you see, is taking what you've read into what you've experienced.

Just as you've done here...making it human

And so....understandable to anyone

I read this yesterday. Came back to comment on it today. Love this. I think you captured the spirit of Goldberry very well littlewing. Tom could not have sung it better stamping about in his boots of yellow. This was the only disappoint for me in Peter Jackson's - Lord of the Rings. I know the meeting of Tom and the hobbits by old man willow was not essential for the movie...but dang I really wish it had been included. Maybe he will gift us with The Hobbit next. It would be cool to see Smaug and the battle of the 5 armies. At least one dreams.

Sue you write so nicely about the elves, Tolkien wrote so many wonderful things in TLOTR, nobody will better it. Even his poems within the books are fantastic and worth a merit on their own, a fine nod of gratitude to Tolkien...thank you

I'm afraid I don't know Tolkien from 3rd base, but this is a very pretty set of words.  Well done.  Ken

The title and poem go well together.  I enjoyed it and I think I'm a little amiss.  I guess I didn't look hard enough to find this one.  Its good.

Went fishing for the mermaid deep down wearing my emerald earings...but I'm not an elf-queen. I did get soaking wet and sprained an ankle..I let the trout lie prone in his shoreless pool and he was my prince in this poem of yours.ok?
