A Day in the Life, Bewildered |

~*~ It's came down to this, the facts to face a day in the life, years later. I have become a liability to the people I loved most turning into my worst enemy. For better or for worse, in sickness and health, for richer or for poorer, and the fact that alimony is over rated, in spite of things. I've heard it said that pain dies a slow death, but a heart ache passes quickly if we're lucky. Losing all that I held dear the cause and effect of salt in my wounds devastated, that I can't hear you anymore. Pleading like a desperate woman, admitting it took two in order to make it right and right our wrongs. I loved you and despised you, that won't ever change, so blame me if you will. And if you think of me at all picture me bewildered for the lives we rearranged and how corrupt it feels to sever the ties in a heart beat. Sadly we were never a united front like the song Linda sang, we would travel forever to the beat of a different drum while someone else makes eyes at me. But they are not yours, and that's all that I see. ~*~ [This message has been edited by BluesSerenade (01-26-2005 02:50 AM).] |

The vulnerability of our heart is nothing we can see ahead. You privilege us with such a beautiful sadness. Ken Through rubble and trouble and dark of night |

Bluesy, your words carry sadness across the miles but sometimes we need to feel the depths before we can fully appreciate the highs and be worthy of them. It's a long slow and painful journey on this road of life we are forced to travel yet somehow we survive the bumps and potholes along the way. |

Thanks to all of you good poets for taking the time. My apologies for going off the deep end here. Now where did I leave my straight jacket! ugh! Deep blue sigh~ |

Well written - excellent ending - touching my empathy strings here - susan btw - I borrowed your straight jacket, but am still a bit bent, may I use it a bit longer? If I wander far enough, long enough, will I finally know . . . |

Goodness, Bluesy How we all relate to this: I loved you and despised you, that won't ever change, so blame me if you will. I have missed you. |

Lori "And if you think of me at all picture me bewildered for the lives we rearranged and how corrupt it feels to sever the ties in a heart beat." Knowing and understanding this. |

Lori, Always you face the music. How I respect your candor and love your spirit. But mostly I miss the visits. I pray for you... If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Oh, Lori, you did convey a feel of bewilderment in this poem. I feel like I just peeked in your diary. So much said here. ......jo |
