Snow falls On Archer Avenue Late at night The streetlamps cast A pale glow It’s at times like these The mind plays tricks On even the wisest eyes And someone will say To himself he saw Youth The man I was My first love Risen from the dead |

smiling wide I saw this challenge, and I thought (at first) how well the subject would lend itself to a Ballad or even an Ode. Then I thought how much better it would be if you answered your own challenge. I was right. You see beyond illusions... your poetry is like watercolor. wisps and puddles layered |

serenity blaze, Thank you. This was a CBE on the theme. I knew it couldn’t possibly be written by me from her perspective so I responded differently. I really hope others make an attempt. Thanks again. John P.S. CBE chinese brush experience a poem written without change except for minor punc, caps, and such |

Excellent. You wrote of her well. I enjoyed the link you gave us...and I shall give the issue some thought and perhaps brew up something of my own. |
