The Whale's Song

* * *

Far away from the Sea ...

Tears rushed forth
as if I had to cry myself dry
in aching loneliness.
My pounding heart
played a sad tune,
as a single drummer
it echoed the world’s pain.
A soft moan rose
from deep within,
growing louder
with every breath.
Upon this extended sound
of uncontainable sorrow
I raised my arms
high towards the sky
in ardent prayer.

Far away from the Sea …

Standing in silence
with my heart wide open
I listened for an answer
from Above.
It came from within.
The whale’s song!
Channeled
through the depth of the Sea,
it expanded
like an overwhelming caress,
making me shiver
in an all-encompassing
awareness.
The sound I captured,
the unmistakable roar
of my friend the whale,
touched me to the core,
connecting my soul
to the One Spirit Divine
dancing across all life.
The whale’s song
conveyed the universal pain,
it carried the voice
of human misery and longing
higher and higher,
until its echoes
pierced the Immutable,
the One Who goes
by many names,
unleashing the power
of cosmic compassion …
and Love,
and Love.

Far away from the Sea,
the whale’s song
flooded my whole being
and mingled with my tears.
As One we reached out.
And the answer
was Love.
The answer was Love!

You caught the ache of it all, dear...
and it is a beautiful pain...
because it means we live.

Oh, my heart echos your words and my soul aches for the misery - yes, it is love - the answer is love - how beautifully written - and what a fantastic image - you move me, dear Margherita - to compassion and wishing

Love you -   Susan

Thank you dear Kacy, but this one is in the deep waters of the archives. Your own wonderful poem made me want to reread this one and ... see ... I had the same POWERFUL feeling of oneness with the whales and this overwhelming sound expanded again within my heart. Like a renewal of the promise: we need to awaken to LOVE.
There is a message and you and me, we KNOW!

Love and hugs.
Margherita

Trust our Kacy to put something right.  I had never seen this before and what a loss.  Living along the west coast it is a sound one hears not as often as before I am afraid, and one sorely missed.  I am very concerned about global warming and what it is doing to our whales actually.

Beautiful piece Margherita.
