Old Comments is followed by another old one. Dave Old Comments Two guys looking at a cricket pitch. One said, “I’d like to play on this, even if I lost”. The other guy said, “what pitch”. Someone compared a political person to a rock group. The rest of the members said, “we’d have to wait for the next group to invent something but he has to wait for one after to pay him to invent it. A guy trying to impress a woman stood by the fire buckets drenching himself so she would feel sorry for him. Guy passing said “you flooded the floor, where do think you are”. Rogerham Mansions. Not another he said, “Leftem Mansions you want” Politician finished off yet another speech and said “that went really well”, they all followed the prompts on cheering, applause, but I was feeling a bit drained afterwards. Guy walked away and said to his sidekick” I hope he doesn’t realised we’re using his pacemaker to power his neon message shirt”. All my life I thought I was a fool, then I realised I was a politician. This is the chat line Your only as your words This is the ego It's all a blur who cares This is the nothing This is where you belong This is the chat line Where are the visitors are strong This is where the witnesses Watch the private club unfold This is where you are together Loneliness is old This is where the quick Skip ahead in fun This is the place Why arn't you having fun This is your world We are here by chance This is your world Some would like romance This is the dance Let your body sway This is the moment What is that you say So the lights go dim You walk away alone Did you really try Are you all alone Is the sadness hard Is the feeling bad Is the life you left For a moment Just us sad Walk home in the dark Think what might have been Tell yourself your better Than those who might have been Sleep softly in your bed And face the morning sun You may not be a winner But you have just begun |
