This year I’ve decided to forego the extra sleep And let the rest of the country Lapse an hour into the past without me Leaving me a short step ahead And better able to see what is coming Letting me keep the last golden hour Of sunlight to myself It’s not much, an hour And I really don’t believe It will give me an advantage at the track Or foresee events that matter at all But, I have always enjoyed the view While standing apart Maybe now I can go sit beside the Heron That sleeps on the bank Before he has shaken his slumber And maybe Just maybe I can be a good hour away When the fraying rope Unravels its last few threads And snaps Dropping the piano to the sidewalk |

and on that final note... Ed, you never fail to surprise. Enjoy that hour, I like the way you plan to spend it. PS, I'd like to end the whole time change thing! |

Maybe now I can go sit beside the Heron That sleeps on the bank Before he has shaken his slumber And maybe Just maybe I can be a good hour away When the fraying rope Unravels its last few threads to me.. the heart of the piece... and as usual the way you set it up and tell it..is accessable and enjoyable as well as the structure in which you show the reader the bits of wisdom and the glimpses of soul you do so well.. well done sir.. well done indeed |

"But, I have always enjoyed the view While standing apart" ~ and I enjoy the poetic fruits from you as you stand apart from the madding crowd. Yours is an intriguing mind and your eyes see more than the common man... Giving you a warm hug on this nippy morning (at least it is nippy up here in Ontario!) Linda |

wranx, you could write about nothing at all, and make it gleam with never-ending substance. Great penning, as usual. wayne If nothing is something |

It isn't Daylight Saving Time, it's Night Losing Time....but you took control -- I like your sense of independence..... ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

you made me laugh son, and tonight THAT is a real trick! I don't change my clocks any more and I stopped wearing a watch. The clocks in my life (at least the one's I control) are always set to the same time, so half the year I am on time and the other half I am on mine. |
