childhood memories
are far and few
there's more missing
than the love i never knew
no matter how far i ran
or how fast i walked
there was something inside me
that darkness wanted and stalked
taking pieces of my heart
as the innocense they stole
making a little girl
be a women under forced control
with a will to grow
and never become as they are
with all their hate
i wished upon many a star
the sea called to me
so i moved to be near
where i found peace
and one who loved me dear
he helped me get over
the torment and pain
gave me the gift of life
a son, family, made me his wife
soon all that
was taken away
as was what was left
of my heart that day
my lifemy joy
my son,a love i never knew
i would never stop loving
or believing in you
a gift from god
our creater above
born on Easter
along with my birth, his feel of love
times where good
times where bad
tears of joy
tears of sad
then comes a time
i will always remember
i was saying i believe in god
but self belief, never surrender
late in the night
i was awoken
fear filled my room
i couldnt move, nor words be spoken
at the end of my bed
i could sense him there
so big and strong
only darkness no face did he bare
again i try to scream
for my son
while trying to reach for light
a real struggle had just begun
when all that
mattered to me
was my son
a burst of strength
and i became free
as the light came on
so did the words
out of me
this is the first
of memories i have told
next will be memories
from the heart & soul I hold

An enjoyable though sad read.  Getting things out is a long journey but know there are benefits at the end.  Good luck!

when there are so many memories that try to hide, it can take a lifetime to set some of them free.
But when you finally do, there is a sense of relief that rushes in to fill all those empty spots. Sending you warm thoughts of understanding, hoping you have found some comfort in writing this out...a catharsis.
