Comfortably Alone Deep in the crevices of the steepest mountains, The wild grasses of time grow slowly, Unaware and without a care of even the sun’s warmth--- Still, prosperous green blades sway happily, Comfortably alone… Winter is in itself a beauty unmatched, With a humbleness that sings of content. White sparkles of ice memories Drift slowly and patiently upon a cool breeze, Down to a heartless and hardened ground, Vanishing upon a kiss, Heartbroken but passionate still, Comfortably alone… Watch a child sleep And marvel at innocence in its purest form; Imagine the thoughts that form their deep slumber And perhaps you will find yourself in heaven, Bouncing playfully on gentle clouds, Laughing and smiling in the solitude of dreams; But even the stars are awakened by reality, Causing the still form in the darkness to shift quietly, Comfortably alone… Just over the rainbow is a heart that bleeds gold, Painting the skies past eternities threshold, In a brilliance that rivals the auburn sunset. I am often misunderstood in my broodings, As I sit upon the world’s horizon of thoughts, Dreaming, smiling and often searching my memories, Comfortably alone… Marcel |
