Darling, I just thought I'd write and tell you, That, far too late, I finally realize... That every single time I say, "I love you", Just serves to bring more tear drops to your eyes. Perhaps if we had met a whole lot sooner- Before the wars had scarred our hearts and minds, We'd have the type of romance both have longed for. And in real life so seldom someone finds. So now you know why I will never write you... And why I'll try to drive you from my heart. Where you obtained a place, and that right early- I'd better close before the teardrops start. Farewell, my love, I hope you do, my darling- I hope, someday, true love you'll really win. And maybe, time to time, you'll think about me- The cowboy who adored you way back when. |

This is the saddest thing I've read in forever. It's beautiful. I expect to hear a story from you, and this, instead of a story, is a heartache. Lovely. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |
