Silence of a winter’s eve, ensconced in snow white gown, While in the distance lights grow dim, Across now sleeping town, No dogs a barking; cars a honking, Nay, not a sound at all, As tracks of snow-hare dot land’s scape, In midnight’s frigid fall. Crystal flakes touch window’s pane, Translucent shines the moon, Through frosted glass onto oak floor, While I in quilt’s cacoon, Reflect on winters gone on by, On winters yet to come, My eyelids close in night’s repose And I to sleep succumb. |

Tim...I always thought the sound of snow must be silent. Beautiful words here...goodnight! |

Tim, This is quietly reflective, a good mood poem. John |
