Most of you weren’t around then
In the beginning of PiP the forum
We were few and far between
Two hundred of us made a quorum

Becky always wrote of faith
While I used other themes
But somehow something clicked with us
We became friends, strange as that seems

We’d log on to this new internet
Post poems for all to read
Then we’d chat on ICQ
With rather frightening speed

We giggled about our addiction
To PiP and the feedback here
Missing an errant post or reply
Was our biggest fear

We shared our Olympic methods
Of running to take a pee
Halfway down the hall, pants down
Ran my new friend Becky and me

We roared with laughter with each tale
Each bigger than the last
How we’d race from computer and back
Which of us could run that fast

Time took it’s toll on both of us
Members came and went
Becky got a job you see
To help with the bills and rent

And now she needs her family
At home and here on the ‘net
She’s a fighter and won’t give up
God’s not done with Becky yet

She’s got a lot of poetry
Stored in her heart of gold
To share with us, her family,
Until she’s very old

She may write of a pink sweat suit
Created for the Olympic Toilet Team
We’d race view a poem’s reply
To fulfill our poet’s dream

It’s hard for Becky to smile these days
But I know she will one day
Until then, let’s cheer her up
While we continue to pray
**
This is true. I met Becky when she joined PiP and we'd 'chat' on ICQ for hours as we both surfed the forums. We were constantly refreshing our screen to see the replies to our poems and to reply to others. We laughed so hard one night as we talked about running to the bathroom, not wanting to miss anything. We decided we both could be Olympic Toilet Team members as we perfected the art of the undress and run, squat, pee and run back. Those are some of my happiest memories here.

Please write something silly or humorous to make Becky smile.Smiling is good for her..and laughter IS the best medicine. Prayers are appreciated of course, but now let’s give Becky something to smile about!!! Please post any humorous poems dedicated to her in Open Forum.

Thank you...

I don't remember but you told me and sometimes I wish the forums were small like that again.

Boy when you get inspired, your muse comes out in a rage that is for sure and for a great reason!

I will give it a shot and try to write something funny - heck why not a hospital story?

Great story and even funnier as it is true!  Olympic wizzers, now don't that beat all!

I smile and feel the warm fuzzies of friendship and compasshion - and giggle at the images and humor -

I have come to love it here on PIP and find so many true blue folks - I am glad I am able to share this space with other poets

I hope all goes well for your friend - and this was a delightful gift

Hugs -  Susan

If I wander far enough, long enough, will I finally know . . .

Becky was among the first
To welcome me to this fine roost.
But bird, she's not
Unless it's Dove
White, so fair,
and full of love.
Funny, no,
this poem is not.
But it's what came
to me, from heart.

Get well soon, Becky.  And, Sharon, this poem is too true.   lol!!!!

Of course, from those olympic trials sprung the ever revolving posts on which way to hang toilet paper, too...

*laughs* First the poem, then the GREAT debate..  *laughs harder* Oh wow.

Becky it seems your friends are here
Still pulling for your return
When you get back, this toilet dashing
I swear I really must learn

I have to wonder on your dashes
Didn't you ever stumble or fall?
Or get all tangled up in pants
As you hobbled down the hall?

Whats your advice on leaping over obstacles?
Do you leap or jump or run around
Or kick them outta the way
And softly swear outloud?

There's others things to learn as well
What about negotiating around a lil pup?
Well, not so small, but big enough
To really trip me up

So you see, please hurry back
Safe and well and full of ease
because THIS TOILET RACING sounds so fun
And I'd really love you to teach me

hope all is well with her.

There is so much good spirit expressed in this story of friendship.  I think of Becky every day and wish her well soon.

here is my two cents worth....please do get
well soon...

The dash, the crash, the fall and slide
as down the hall the two have flied.
A hope to sit before the drip
as they jump and merrily skip.

Their team is there behind the bush
pulling up panties o’er their tush.
The toilet was down, did not drain
and from that seat they must refrain.

The bleachers were filled to the top
in hopes that soon it all would stop.
A poem was posted, gotta run...
Gee, oh mighty, ain’t all this fun?

And when the bell did finally ring
to end the night of frantic pee
they all did jump and run around
winning the gold of tinkle and tee

See, Becky...what Nan said...

"those" were the days...

Well, heck gal...I think its about time you got off your duff and came back to get some of those days going again!

You see, just because we got "bigger" doesn't mean that we can't have block parties and what-not.  It's time enough for you to let those angels hanging around kick this "thing" into the heavens, so you can get back to having some fun with your friends.  I KNOW it's hard...but you know what?  If my brother can do it...you can too!  Heck, you're younger and prettier than he is!

Becky, my brother went home, finally.  It's time for you to go home to your family, too.  Listen up, gal...

Or I'll have to sic Toerag on ya!

LOL... You know you've been around a long, long time when you don't even have to follow the link to know what the toilet paper discussion was all about! LOL

Those were indeed the days... I remember the rising panic... as the forums grew and I could no longer keep up with reading every single post... but... there are such great compensations... just look at the wonderful gathering of poets we have today! *S*

But whatever our quantity, we'll never stop thinking of quality... and Becky is certainly that. *S* Thank you, Sharon... for this smiling memory... and for giving us all a chance to let Dovey know she's loved and missed. *S*
