Need Pressed to Want and Eye Betrothed to Eye

O’ night be velvet for the stars shine soft,
The dew in the grasses is held aloft,
And glistens like diamonds strewn o’er the sedge,
Scintillation along a trailing edge.

But here a moon-flower doth smile with want,
Thirsting to drink from the baptismal font,
Ere I’d pluck it I’d gift it my souls’ kiss,
For yea there is naught that’s as sweet as this.

Save ‘tis not a bloom but thee my sweetheart,
And my lips and thine should not be apart,
Enfold me forthwith in the warmth of thee,
Wed me to the love thou would’st give to me.

This night, this place, there is but you and I,
Need pressed to want and eye betrothed to eye.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!
