I loaded my old pickup, And locked the trailer door, And turned out all the livestock, I won't be back no more. I have to say you warned me. You said I had to choose- Rodeo, or marriage- But either way I lose. Some day I might regret it- I guess I do right now. If I could I'd change it, But I guess I don't know how. I've quit the last three seasons- But couldn't stay away... You knew I was a cowboy On our wedding day. I know I'm getting older, And, yeah, I'm kinda slow. I'm buckin' off too regular, But that's just rodeo. I know I'll hit a good lick, Next month in San Antone... I sure am gonna miss you, As I spend it all alone. Motel 6, and Super 8- Burgers, cokes, and fries... Spinnin' tales behind the chutes With all the other guys- Drivin' hard, and ridin' hurt- That is my lot in life... I'll never understand just how, I thought I'd keep a wife. |

Morning cowboy! Love it when you spin your tales of the rodeo. Wish I could have seen you just once up top a bronc. Keep on writing..I'll keep reading. Hugs~Nancy In the midst of winter, |

My dear Gunslinger friend, your writings always seem to give me a sad smile. Choices, our lives are simply made up of them. Well done. Hugs, Chris ~The soul that can speak through the eyes can also kiss with a gaze~ Gustavo Adolfo Becquer |

I came looking for you, and there you are! I love your tales. This one makes me so sad--you know the rodeo and the riders and I don't know anyone else who tells their stories. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |
