There may never come a time when I will thirst for blood But I am blood thirsty just the same I don’t believe I am someone you should pet, Even in your kind and curious way I have no small revolt to offer you I feel star·struck paying the idiot's rent There is no more reason to quench my thirst So I think I should just Suffer the rent How much longer can you carry on? Why must they keep us from our acceptance..? Above and Beyond Below and Across From this height all does not seem so lost Now we all share each other's shadow Now we all share the Idiot's rent New lovers are nervous and tender, but smash everything. For the heart is an organ of fire |

I'm not quite sure what to say here, but I did want to let you know that I'd been here and given this some thought. Can't say that I understood it, as it seemed to swing from extremes pendulum-ike -- rather as though the poem itself would like to deny its own existance at times. And actually, that's rather what I liked about it. (I don't intend that as sly and unkindly either) Idiot's Rent I do understand, and that is where I meander farther in my thoughts than is comfy, as I tend to think we pay the idiot's rent for the comfort of ourselves more than the idiot. Anyhow, enjoyed the ponder. Thanks |
