For the Hand who carved my country and all of the other beautifull things this earth has to offer.

Approaching Banff

A long low range of purple peaks that calmly wait,
Piercing the golden tinted western sky,
Mournful...watching daylight die,
Stand like sentries guarding heaven's gate.

But soon the craggy peaks reach for the sky,
Capturing wisps of cloud that went astray,
Till dense, they darken glorious day,
Imprisoned 'twixt those giants towering high.

Those barren faces weep torrential tears,
Filling nooks and crannies far below,
With turquoise gems from lands of ice and snow,
The heritage of time - of endless years.

What hand has made those giants grand and tall?
Whose tools have carved the rugged features there?
Whose brush has painted rainbows in their hair?
And can He care for one so weak and small?

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING...I live in southern Alberta, not far from the Rockies of which you write and can tell you that you have captured the overpowering feeling I get as I gaze upon the majestic beauty....I am always in awe of the hand that created such wonder....whenever I travel them I feel close to the creator...BRAVO!!! Thank you for sharing this vision of wonder...

Don't want to be ( and I probably couldn't get) anywhere near Banff right now....but in five, maybe six months, yes....there's no sweeter place.
