Hugs

Is your day lookin’ grim and sad?
Does that cold really feel so bad?
Is home life glum from some ol’ cad?
Do you ache from a woman who’s got you mad?

Do you need a hug today?

Are your bills unpaid and life’s a squeeze?
Do you sweat for those who don’t say please?
Are you so scared that you’ve weakened knees?
Do mechanics raise your hood and say “Aw jeez?”

Do you need a hug today?

Is your animal sick and leaving “sign”?
Do your children play tapes and not rewind?
Is the laundry piled beyond your mind?
Does it never feel like you’re “refined?”

Do you need a hug today?

Is your day spent running out of luck?
Does your panty hose sag or your zipper stuck
Is your car sitting stranded in some muck?
Did your mama say “You’ve got no pluck?”

Do you need a hug today?

Do you live in Southern Asia?

When put into perspective,
we never really know
when we have it SO good...

Thank you for this intuitive, timely write, Ken.

Oh.... ouch.

My smarty-pantsed reply fled as I got to the last line... How well you've put things into perspective!

I was delighting in this thinking - hugs, yes, warm and fuzzy - but the last line - 'tis true, is always someone out thiere with a road more difficult to walk than our own.  Still - trials shared no matter how small they may be - are easier carried with a hug or shoulder to lean upon - blue is blue -

Enjoyed the thoughts of this and its point-

Every action generates a force that returns to us in like kind . . . let us choose compassion and love

Yes, Ken...I do need a hug!  However I know that a hug cannot help for some....because they have lost so much.  A thoughtful write, my friend...thank you.  I'll stop feeling sorry for myself now.

Thank you for asking!

You made me think of Amma "the hugging Saint".

A hug is a most precious gift and we should leave no one out ...

Great poem.

Love, Margherita

Well done Ken..with a great message...
I still could use a hug...but, not as bad as before I read this.
Good stuff m'friend.

In the midst of winter,
I found there lives within me..
An invincible summer.
