b/w conscience and insolence

0 posted 2005-01-04 08:55 AM

i brushed my only taste away.
colors
wrong for their undesirable thrill
to touch a fading tongue.
how to hide
the primitive smiling lack…  of feel,
so full of pure drive to ignore the same?

and then

my patience swooned
in the horizontal separation
of new lips.
a touch
lined by deviation
of time
veiled in softness of mortality.

hand me the cover of hot palms…
i’ll bury
my will in the wait to ignore

Exactly so....

That was my response, and then I kept writing....until I stopped and decided to post it....which I'll do in a moment. Meanwhile I've got to say to you....

You are doomed to be misunderstood, but fated for quality -- never forget that for a moment. You couldn't write an ineffective poem if you tried, and weakness is quite beyond your strength. You can't get down that far with an aqualung.

You know very well what I'd say if I'd had the initiative to say it, and then, maybe you'd love me or hate me.

You know?

Such stark images, but finely juxtaposed.  Well done.  KJ
