Does the sound of bombs exploding
And the hot shrapnel humming by
Sound different when, "in Freedom’s name"?
Cause less terror in the victim’s eye?

Does the searing pain feel different
As it rips away at life and limb
Does the sight of victims, ours or theirs
Seem any more or less as grim?

Are the hopes and dreams in ashes
Any less important if another’s?
No matter who, is this the way
For Mankind to treat his Brothers?

Oh, we give reasons for our actions
To convince the World and us we’re right
But that doesn’t ease the terror
And the horrors of Wartime’s blight.
