I am ten: high above, bare maple limbs
Are re-leaved, with black starlings.

The world turns, and with it colors;
Fauvist leaves, Matisse-red, and orange
Splash the forest floor, as if a pallet;
Making me a bed with paisley-pillows.

For a child, not blinded, by grown-up thoughts
The world of unconditioned states exists,

is still believable; solid peripherals
Shape no differences, word-speak
Messages of migrating birds, he hears;
Grownups can't, they have forgotten how to listen.

Who leads? I ask the dark uncountables?
Which one touches first, is first to lift?

"We know not math or science", chirped the unison
"The one of us is all, our bodies unified, (yes)
Always there's duality, but never really two
We rise at once, when  time demands we go,
And when it's time to perch, as one we land.

Listening to every heart

You've caught them...

when they are a magic carpet ride
in the sky of twists, and turns,
disappearing as they stream,
then turn, a black rainbowed blanket
in the sky, a magic carpet
shaken by invisible hands...

As one...

Excellent...a visual treat, Ford.  Thank you!

Grownups can't, they have forgotten how to listen.

do they listen?
maybe if you shake them hard enough they will
do they listen?
when the trees are shivering with a cast of ice on, enduring what we can only glimpse at, and yet the faith they have to do it all over again come april? to birth again?

do they listen?

make them listen
(actually you just did)

*
I am ten...
sitting high within
the sheltering branches of an olive tree
sparrows circling around me,
serendipitous moment
of noisey tranquility

and you, my friend, perhaps understand,
why I did not come down from that tree
when mother called me
to come inside a smoke-filled livingroom
to watch New Year's games

* Happy New Year's to you, Ford

In the midst of winter,
I found there lives within me..

You have captured their movement exactly
Thank you...You must still be a kid inside also...

Try it See More, The language is still in you somewhere,
They respond now, only you have to listen more carefully...

Inky
"do they listen?
maybe if you shake them hard enough they will"
I have tried to shake them, but all they say is ..."You're nuts"
So I give up, and speak only to other entities when I am alone...

Froggy....
Thank you....

OMG
your life has unraveled very much like mine , especially in the early years.
I understand very well why you chose to stay in the tree...it was safer there with the birds
than being with the grownups, smoking and talking loud...and far more real.

Nancy
"Oh to be ten again..."  Funny thing is, that that ten year old is still here, a little time worn , but its spirit is clean and as receptive as it was 50 years ago....and the little ten year old girl still smiles from your pen....its ok to not grow up completely, actual doing that can be a detriment...

Thank you all, hugs all around...
