Life Is A Death Sentence (a little credit goes to Kit and Sy) |

Grief weighs down limbs Like flocks of birds resting in sorrow, Caring not that they droop limbs low Beneath their weight in woe. Such somber doves, silent. Downy heads bowed in soulful prayer Trying to find a space to rise up, Rejoin the world of the living. No matter how different the day, A wing’s sting of melancholy Can be soothed in flight. In life, as in death Love sets us all free to fly. Oh, you can be sure, Sorrow return to peck at crumbs Forcing forth tears of memory Or a smile hidden all too long Under the throbbing pain of loss. It is then that I wrap myself tightly In a downy blanket of heart memories To warm my very soul. Life is a death sentence, Where we all just serve time. ~*~ Carpe' Diem My Friends art: Linda Bergkvist http://www.furiae.com/ Title: From the wise words of Seymour Tabin Inspired by: Kit McCallum |

Sharon, You have me in good company. What you say is true but one of the pleasures was meeting you. Well done |

The opening verse hit me, as it was with a bit of wonder I realized that grief, does indeed, have weight. It still amazes me, how much heavier the feet hit the floor under that burden of sorrow. *heart hugs* Sharon |

My emotions are in an psychic upheaval as at it were, and today Kit liked a line in a letter I wrote, and she said, turn it into something. Well something turned it into lines of a poem, then I remembered Sy stating one day,"After all life is but a death sentence," so they both fit the mood of my day. Thanks for reading this ramble-on about just too much sorrow these days. |

"It is then that I wrap myself tightly In a downy blanket of heart memories To warm my very soul." Wow, you painted an incredibly vivid picture here Sharon ... from the heavily laden tree, to the cozy warm blanket of memories. A very thought-provoking write, which is what this life is all about. Well done! Best wishes and hugs, /Kit |

Sometimes our boughs are so heavy we can not lift them, but when our troubles and worries are lifted in weight, we all manage to reach for the sun, it's nature! Thank you for reading! Carpe' Diem [This message has been edited by Mysteria (01-02-2005 02:26 PM).] |
