Tick-Tock Tears

precious possibilities
drip away
with the tick of time
like a leaky faucet
ignored for the bother of it

puddles of sorrow
pool the losses
as light is sought
in want for a rainbow
of
priceless promises

Winter Solstice

Moon’s hanging
belly down tonight
it casts a glow
that barely burns
through the clouds

still~
we cannot miss its presence
heavier in its light
suspended from absence
hanging on to nothing
save darkness,
mystery,
intrigue

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Both pieces are richly wrought - well done
