Preparing the Girth of Hearth domesticated wanderings room to room to hall a cluster here, a cluster there, gathering laundry piled tall wanting to escape but knowing I must toil it wouldn’t do to have you find me wallowing in my soil that is, of course, unless it was during the act of pulling weeds then it’d be might fine to catch me in my deeds the washer has set up a rhythm a spin-swishing to my labor as I attempt to cut my chores with my trusty, silver sabre there’s purchased goods to stow and gifts to sort and wrap I wish ‘twas more than water available on tap there’s lights to find and string about the nooks and crannies thought part of me, for sure, would like to rest in jammies alas, alack, “I sha’n’t complain, the holidays are here.
