December Still

Awoke with leg cramps, too early still.
That sawing wood had worn my will.
But morns like this, when the chill takes hold
The work paid off in heated gold.

The winds, they blow in circled frost.
Moisture's rings surround, accost.
Hoping not too cold to move,
She lays by fire, she does approve.

A picture postcard this time of year.
A curled up She, alive still, here.

Thank you Susan...and to think just 5 months ago or so I thought She ( Sugar) would have to be put down~~~

(turns out a change of litter from that crystal stuff...and her problems improved)

Happy Holidays to you, too.

sweet, poignant, peaceful pic, too.

Thanks for the encouragement, as I have changed my cat's litter to see if that will cure her dermatitis. It helped my daughter's cat to do so, so I'm trying it with mine.
Only changed it about 4 days ago though so too soon to tell.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Virginia, I spent over 300 dollars at the vets that day and they also wanted to do sonograms etc to determine why her bladder was so enlarged...when I talked to a distant relative who raises animals and she asked me if I used the clear crystal litter and if I did, that was probably the problem.

And within a week she was eating and back to normal...only problem now is she had to at first eat canned food from the vets and now I can't get her off of it..*fancy feast* and in the smaller expensive cans...I think she is spoiled!

As I look out the window seeing all the snow falling, I can really appreciate a warm fire with a cat curled up next to it!  Enjoyed your poem a lot.
