~*~

Winter’s secrets fall upon us
I am resting in your wilderness
Laying sheets of linen over downy scents
To play with language as it shapes itself around my mood
In the throws of forest sighs of snow drop lace
Might I quilt a memory where I can climb inside
Be warm against the frost, embraced as night denied
In listen of the strum the wind succumb of branch
A distant tumble rolls too heavy avalanche
On mountains I have climbed
The drop of heavy parcels kept to their applause
Sidelined to witness the effect without a cause
Kept company in hidden truths and night bird calls
Estranged yet not delayed, these truths be not dismayed
Where layer upon layer form the hood upon my wish
So quiet here drawn deeper into warming ways
Impressions left just room enough for two, awaiting you
Like church, the silence of anticipate a moment great
Most grateful in the pine of perfect pictures mine
The breadcrumbs lead your footfalls softly here
And turning in my dreams to mold around you near
When winter says her secrets to the blushed night sky
Glowed red, the stars are jealous

Very nice imagery with exceptional lines!  To note two of my favorite:

"In the throws of forest sighs of snow drop lace"

"Where layer upon layer form the hood upon my wish"

Absolutely beautiful wording throughout, but should this surprise me?  Not in the least!  I love how you experiment with the sound of words and the pictures they portray.

Happy holidays, TD.
