Dissolution a.k.a. (Not Everyone Decks the Halls)

I'm ennuyé...haggard. The witching hour has
been and gone and sunup is upon me.
Look, in the East, the daystar doth rise and
I bleary eyed weep for the loss of twilight.
Be vexed my heart. Let sarcasm and grossness
wed me to bitterness. Thrust deep the blade
of woe into my belly, torque and cleave
my life's blood onto the floor. It matters
naught for I am even now dead. An
automaton going through the motions.
There's, no life within mine eyes, no hope in
each rasped breath, and I do not care. Why must
we yoke disquiet to heartache? Where is it
written that tomorrow will bring a better
day? Bullroar I say. Absurdity is
all there is, and for but a winks cessation
we slight this certainty for a toss of
the dice. Seven out! The house wins...but not I.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

Hello Love,

Santa must not going to bring
what you want for Christmas.
This says a lot of things to me
as well as some things I can relate too.
I've added this to the rest of them.

;-)

Amour Vous Always,

Within this heart you'll find love

Hi Kevin,
this is a very strong and emotional write.
It's very well written.

By the way, I've never heard the term "bullroar" before either? ))
Hugs,
Ethel

bullroar
and I don't deck the halls either, but continue to reshuffle the deck when the hand isn't to my liking
and I'm not much of a card player

Hi everyone. Thank-you for commenting on the poem. I really appreciate it. Bullroar is not a new word though dear friends. It means rubbish, balderdash, nonsense, trash, bull, crap, load of rubbish, or horse hockey. I pulled it out of the dictionary when I wrote the piece. (Wink!)
