Listening to every heart

Candid Words

Too simply put,
biology’s B was from
extremely hard work,
for the cow’s eyeball, already dead, no pain,
no problem,
but inject baby chicks?

No way.

Don’t tell me that nail in
a green frog’s spine is going
to dull its senses, for it most
certainly dulled none of mine,
each slice digging
deeper into my
soul…

no vet to be born, here,
for the agony any animal suffers
is felt tenfold within this
heart…making me powerless
to inject yet more pain,
even for its good…in this, I am weak…

so the only thing I pull apart,
put together, dissect
and taste, reconstruct and
extract DNA from,

are words.

Candid, word of the night.

Candied id would have suited
Freud, I hear he had
a sweet tooth, but I’m sure that was
someone’s slip…

truth be known, it is a most
glowing word, the roaming Romans
knew its light, but then it changes
suit and stands upright,
baring itself honestly…

two fair words divide into
able words…
can…. did….

Like the train that chooed itself
up the hill I think I can I think I can,

the runner who met himself
coming in last at least did himself a service
in making effort…

no less the train…

does the and of it bring me a smile,
pulling two rights into one’s straightforward
ability to be honest?

If there was a word playing
around my head tonight,
it’s candid…

because it is itself
a delightful word,
and allowed itself to center
here, in this little bit…
unbiased…
impartial.

Honest.

Like the word, the answer to your questions is twofold.... Can, and Did....

Soooo glad that you chose poetry for your dissecting experimentation because you're so very very good at it and I do agree with your analysis of Biology.... Not for me either, Thank You. -Bob

I always loved english, but hated biology,
so I loved this poem of your dissecting of the words. Very good, SunshineyOne. I'm glad it came back up.

Ethel

Interesting work!
Can did .... great ponderings, I have never thought of it in these terms.
It gains a new horizon.
Love, Margherita
