Symone

True, I hold dear the taste
mandarin orange, sweet wafting
of a fragrance brought close --
the lines of her lower lip ever imprinted
to a place of my own keeping.

There I count the steps, one to another
guided remembrance of her form against
the sun.
A cameo cut from crystal -- prism light --
vast, her colors filled me with a want I hoped
never to unlearn.
To walk beside her, my world was untangled
sheltered beneath a canopy of mimosa in bloom.

Still, I hear the sky light's invitation --
Symone, extending her hand in reach of my own
"come to walk the water's edge" she would say.
Her day incomplete, less the cool surf's blanket
splashed freely across her toes.

Yet, the sea's endless call proved more
than her will could withstand
-- a pendulum of constant motion --
each wave spoke mysteries to her heart.
Each shooting star a seed of light --
furrowing deep within the blue toned soul
of her desires.

In her chase of it all, my magic faded.
The ceaseless roll of the ocean's drum
overtook the gentle brush of my words
against her brow.
As the light of yesterday's morning has
passed to the other side of darkness --
there my thoughts run in time.

The images you use in this love story are wonderful.  So many love stories have sad endings...it is part of what makes romantic I think....the competition with the ocean was a nice touch.  Very much enjoyed!

What a delightful read. I could see that mimosa, taste a mandarin, feel the gentle lapping of a wave. Well done!

An ocean of emotion here.
Well set, the images reveal the form of thought so very well.
An aching yesterday, celebrated to the peaks of morning.

This is elegant.

Gentle and yet stunning, like the wash of surf in the tide.

loved it

Well, didn't recognize your name when I stumbled across this..

I won't forget it now.

Truly, soft and sorrowful ..a beauty that touched me.

physical manifestation of love into a form that is accessible, providing foundation, structure and most importantly, vision.  In essence giving the breath of life it needed since conception, which is what you've birthed here...love in human form...outstanding!!!
