If you were but the pen I hold,
...between my fingertips,
I would sail the night above,
...on heaven’s sailing ships,
For in my clasp would rest a star,
...rare beauty opaltine,
The key to welkin seas above,
...aglow in vespertine,
Your silvered ink would trace the skies,
...as feathered wings of lace,
Sweet jewel of midnight shining bright,
...embodiment of grace,
You’d carry me where comets soar,
...where muses sing on high,
Across the tides of the Milky Way,
...to touch upon the sky,
If you were but the pen I hold,
...I’d drift on heaven’s floor,
Knowing that I held in hand,
...night’s splendor evermore,

That reminded me of reading poets of old...and it was just as good!

I haven't seen any postings from you for awhile - I enjoyed this - made me think of Romeo and Juliet, their overwhelming, passionate love
