Tour de France A Texan is riding on wheels of a dream That skim over asphalt and small mountain stream The sure and the steady, the force from within Rides into the tunnel and into the wind It’s mind over muscle and strength over thrill That spins silver spokes over crest of a hill Disease is forgotten, the illness is dead But the will to defeat it still spins in your head You are master of miles, a blur to the eye A bullet that’s launched from the will to defy The position of others, the measure they lack Hits nerves in your spine and the skin on your back No need for the eyes to now venture behind For completing your mission’s consuming the mind As the rock of Gibraltar stands firm in it’s place So ideals that you hold are engraved on your face The course of resistance is etched under scalps That brazenly challenge the might of the Alps Only one has the title of winner by name Only one is bestowed cyclers’ honor of fame Just one streak of lightening will flash on that day A yellow shirt piercing the Champs Elysees Good Luck, Lance Armstrong! I'm sure that receiving this phenomal poem would add some wind to his proverbial sails! This was fantastic! You captured the heart of the race and of those who do the racing!!! I find La Tour de France exhillarating to watch! ~ but those spills can be totally horrendous! The level of fitness and their courage is highly admirable ~ and impressive! ~ as was your poem! Linda |

I cannot even begin to imagine the endurance and training they go through, and admire their great and endless committment to something like this. An honor and prayer for them to send them on their way, how utterly generous and kind...I wish he could read this....hey, perhaps he has a website where you could post it for him to see. I bet he'd be filled up with emotion and tears of joy. God bless you Liz, have a wonderful day |

You should really send this in to ESPN or one of the other sports channels...and to Lance Armstrong...this is absolutely superb lady! |
