Writing Her

“Write of me,” she asks,
“say the woman that you see.
I need to see me as I live
within the mirror of your eyes.”

With grateful humility I answer:

“Every line of you is blessing,
every curving of you, whether
outside or within, whether
body, mind or soul, is blessed.
Every turning of your body
pulls me as a kite line
draws toward the sanctuary
of earth and air.
Pull, and I fly to you,
release, I fall to you;
hold, and I float in you
on breezes of the soul.

“You ask to show you love
but showing takes a contrast
and there is no change of tone,
no variation in the hue.
I see you as you are,
and you are love.
I see you as you may become,
and you are love.
I see you as a part of me,
and you are love.

“So look at me, only look
into my eyes and you will see
the wholeness of yourself.
You will see love.”
