So tell me
how it is done,
when the soul's onslaught
becomes a ballad of motion,
an ocean floodlit
and eloquent red muscles
darken like wounds
over a wet landscape of thorns
worn as a seamless garment of pain
in echoes of a freckled heart,
indecisive, upon the immediacy
at the threshold of deliverance,
tell me how to rise
with the rhythms, seize
them for my own,
as the bloody shell of dreams harden
and my bones seem to show
through the images of limbs twisted
inside the folds of skin, open
on what at your word
would close and catch
on the purities of its fiction,
tell me how darkness
becomes utter dream and somehow
leave me intact, tell me
how to hold the waking body still
in one terrible motion unstrung
to the silence of hands like the ones
you've taught the heart to govern,
tell me that they shall not at last
by more urgent hands become undone,
eclipsed by the onslaught of the soul rising
in one bloody motion, an ocean floodlit
and eloquent, so tell me
how it's done.

it's done with time and with strength..
enough to let go and still hold on to those parts of yourself..that are too precious to let go...

very nicely painted... such questions always come out in umber tones for me... you add some specks of color here..I'd otherwise not see

You had me from the beginning BabyG, and the rest? Divine!

it's a

Maree

and I am haunted
by my illicit exquisite dream
but I can't really wake up
so I just drift in between

I hope you're not asking me.

I've been following YOU around trying to figure out how it's done myself.

I'll quit stalking you lady poet.

But know that I read all you post and find your work refreshing and immensely satisfying.

satisfying, hrmmph, until I try to write my own, that is.

Gotta love Karen's honesty - do you feel stalked yet - can't help it.  You lay before us a buffet fit for royaly of the finest, and once again I came to eat like a pig!  Damn that was good!  By the way you could tell me how it was done until sundown, and I still couldn't ever see the world as you do.  Absolutely incredible is your work..
