Least Not The Desert Flower

A man is that desert flower
Stubborn and tough like the ageless mountains
Born into solitude and contentment
Thriving in reality’s harshness
Rarely complaining of life’s misfortunes
But praying that patience will bring a dreamer’s rain
And the end to loneliness and self-blame.

The prayer is answered with the breeze
And in that breeze is the scent of a woman
Smelling of sweet lilacs and honey
Arousing the forgotten passions of a man
As her love falls in a crimson rain
Washing away dirt from eyes and heart
Nourishing the hardened soil of her own sorrow,
Underneath which, the soul of a man smiles.

Marcel

A man who is willing to show the sensitivity within himself, and able to do so without seeming weak or maudlin...is a rarity even in PIP.

You just made a fan.

Of so many favorite writes you have done Marcel, this took a mystery and made it understood in such a soft and warming enfold.

Your thoughts spill here as velvet waterfalls.

A flowering poet such as yourself, blooms even in the harshest of arid deserts.

Lovely penning from a sensitive and loving man.

Bloom on, Dear Poet!
