Scrambled

“To braiding words”
the promise of the visit,
yet time swift swung days
to nights and back again
and soft voice of long known
friend first met
all that she is, scrambled
my heart

Thinking how she shot out the window
heart beating with that same marvel I’ve seen
impacted with eyes so photo sensitive
bringing me California the way she sees it

Yes, to her, and some maybe ways
look around, see eclectic sway
and birds that chirp to
wayward strays, she even
took me in.

Feathered friends all color coded
preening the wheel between blue and green
hold no place in line before the gold of her
instead of black dot eyes that hurry worry food call
she sees inside the special places of my heart this fall

Jay and Sam and Ellie kissed, then left
a blessing to know these kin;
later benches and trees
were met, each one
her special places, I heard her say, in
shapes of this, and touch of that.
“See the tree where leaves fall up!”
Her smile is poetry.
Graceful her hands, blessed her touch
this poet’s love is mine.

I am only made of paper and crumble
my words really are just that, all scrambled
she sleeps in light and wakes the morning hello
and folds them in her lap to keep a memory
and lets them out one by one for all to see

Miles were crossed in other ways
three voices melded a tune,
the laughter shared with pens that care
heard soft those promises of soon.

The road is crossed that crossed before
and now the grass and trees are changing
but wow the bench has stayed the same
holding to the place where seasons stop

Scrambled thoughts bled my heart.
a mix of then and now,
coffee beans and mugs so deep,
hands hugging hearts in tell,
and she tells one well.

Not time to say goodbye so soon
maybe she should wait past noon
I feel like just begun should stay
in skipping scrambled  friendship’s glade

Sunshine starts the time of leave
golden flowers fall like rain,
Somehow one knows instinctively
The promise of future days.

There will be time another coffee
and the breakfast scramble hearty
filled up and carried in a suitcase
take this careless fallen feather
some other day and time together

Some soons come scrambled in dreams.

Three strands bound fast, perfect number, perfect braid....and two voices woven to a cloth of excellence.

When these wits sit down to write
All who read can find delight.
None could find a tiny flaw
In this tale of love's fine draw.

A beautiful piece.  Ken

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

Now we all knew that a braiding of this sort would make one heck of a tapestry.  Golden threads they are that stitch this one up.  Just lovely are the images you two are sharing from your visit and the lock of fingers is one I wouldn't mind sharing out there in CA myself.  Beautiful duet you two.

Your hearts come together as one in this,
and they are outstanding and simply beautiful.

Thank you sharing your time together here.

quote:
filled up and carried in a suitcase
take this careless fallen feather
some other day and time together

How prophetic so many poems,
How loving so many tomes
How careful we have braided our words…
Two voices in concert, poets’ hearts heard…

It was amazing…the time I spent with family, friends,
Renewing friendships, building them up;
I was wordless except for the journal times…
But when I came home,
I found my place again in time, in muse,
In rhyme…

And free verse.

I am so very pleased that so many of you
Embrace our Martie, and myself…
For you see, she needs to be on a pedestal

And higher…

Oh so much higher…but she would say…
“oh, no way…”

So to our friend poets…and to the ones we will meet…
If you ever get to Glendora, Taylor and Martie will greet
All of you just so, with open arms, and of this?  I’m sure…
That the calm you will feel will be such a cure…

I left my words in a notebook, one of our Martie’s own…
She owes me a letter, so that her penmanship, I’ll own…

And for those of you who wanted to hold hands?
You DO...for our imaginations are grand!

Awww, Karilea...the feather took to flying well.     Thank you and everyone for the replies here.  Karilea just pulls words out like clothing from a suitcase...me, I had to wait and let them fill me up first.  As for the handwriting...I can't even read my own anymore.
