All in 24 The beaches are no longer ours, as a whole; state parks admit, admittance… Keeping the riff and raff away, for who wants to spend eight bucks for a day… Or ten, if the beach is more popular…how sad to see times go that way… I remember free…. I curried Gaviota, no pass it was owed ya… and walked the pier in quiet…only one fisher’s man to mind… gulls were waiting sharp, four feet close, they would depart, but all in all, the waves came in… Refugio demanded more, a surly woman maddening shores I would have paid and could have stayed, But for her look…then, I remembered El Capitan, the surly waves and rocky sand, And the guard, oh he remembered my Own new home town…we shared a word, laughs and smiles, He said “how long”, oh, “just a while” “go on” he said, and camera prone… I stood so long in time… Could I share this with you again, The long call shores, the laps of when, The waves met sand, so finely wrought, It curved to greet all that was caught, In curling white, it met me still, The force of waves, it brought a thrill, I hear the pound, released the frown Of all that costs… Then I went on to meet the one That makes one’s heart go greet the sun, The hand that winds a universe, All writ in love… And if you hear a melody, then know it’s in The heart of me, To sing a song, that still belongs… To poets we… For I would sing a song of love, To greet a poet we all love, Who feeds the strays that find their way…. To Martie’s home…. She feeds the doves, and creatures there Who find her home beyond compare, The cats and birds, who all live there… And Precious is her pet… There is a Bird, who grows its wings, A cockatiel, who truly sings, A Needful cat, whose blackened paws, All gives her love…. And then a peacock showed his self, A younger male…all on his own… Found his place, in Martie’s hand…. And at her home…. No one will Ever tell me so, That poets can’t speak tongues, oh no, oh no… There is a language all their own…. They speak…. …for all time, ….in love….. |

They do indeed....some well, some only a little....but this one -- it is her native tongue....as you know. |

To see such moments as you find in your camera's eye is a treat for a lifetime! Well told story. Ken Through rubble and trouble and dark of night |

Beautiful writing, Sunshine. The first part shocked me a bit. It's a shame the beaches aren't the same. I can't imagine paying $8 to see what God created. Please tell me that no one is charging to view a mountain! I really liked the contrast you showed by visiting Martie's home and many animals. missie |

OMG how beautiful, the both of you and this and that, of course *smile* (your writing reminded me of Crystal Beach which is no longer here anymore) |
