Moving Sculpture

The street was littered with leaves
While the sun withered the sculpture
Woven by a frivolous breeze
The hands of a master sculptor

A dog sniffed secrets from the air
The birds hunt food upon the ground
And I eyed movement through my stare
The sum of which was quite profound

Timed ticked a rhythm bray
Shadows danced a puppets show
And light spot each moments play
Upon a moving rivers flow

I knew that change was playing court
And time was busy sifting sand
By changing of the guard of wrought
The very nature of the brand

I wonder at the littered leaves
Woven by a frivolous breeze?

Come read to me some poem,
Some simple and heartfelt lay,
That shall soothe this restless feeling
And banish the thoughts of day.

Good Morning Sy!

I love the image of leaves as a moving sculpture .... you know they gather and hug each other while "coping with transition".

Beautiful images!

Love, Margherita

Well, ya got the profound part right Sy-babes....and this one is as lovely and profound as the seasons change...I love the spark of curiosity and the awe of all that is around you in this gem.
Randy and I have chilly willy toes this morn...LOL--we dropped into the 30s and had light frost for the first time..a tad early for us.

Gonna try and play some catch up in here today...so much poetry...so little moth

I believe that time weaves nothing frivolously.  A plan exists and is followed to the letter every second. Well done Sy.

Good morning, my friend!

One of the most useful attributes of a good poet, is an observant eye.

You not only see the world around you, you watch and look and turn it into memorable poetry.

I also enjoy the fruits of your inquiring and philosophizing mind!

Like you, I am not just a star-gazer, I am a leaf and cloud gazer! Look on! Writie on!

Loves 'n hugs,
EA
