Each Blessed Morning © 2004 Linda L. Dowd I rise each blessed morning with a prayer in my heart, For a day full of promise and a brand new start. With chances to correct any wrongs I may have done, And to hear the sweet refrains of songs yet to be sung. Golden rays of sunshine soak the inner depths of me Releasing all aggression and setting spirits free. I glow in the knowing I’m a spark of all Creation It matters not my creed or race ~ my nation or my station. Twinkles in the skies at night are my hopes and dreams, Mother Moon wraps them up in bows of silver beams. Warm and gentle breezes are kisses blown by God, While bounty and abundance rise up from Nature’s sod. Tranquil rains are cleansing and replenish things gone dry, Living oceans wave at us as they go rolling by. The foliage of our woodlands enrich the air we breathe, There’s wonder in the beauty of webs that spiders weave. There is the loving feeling when held in warm embrace And our overwhelming joy in a child’s smiling face. There is delight in viewing the unfolding of a flower And the sweet release of fragrance can perfume every hour. An inner peace prevails when we find our inner still And in the handing of the reins to the Universal Will. Listen to the Guidance as you walk your way in life, Then serenity will wash away all worries, fears, and strife. I rise each blessed morning with a prayer in my heart, For a day full of promise and a brand new start.
