it always was this way
they said
because I said things
they didn't want to hear
confronted them
with themselves contstantly
and they hate me
because I made them afraid of their own monsters.
it seems I always draw the fists
the screaming raging things they are
beneath the
"I love you's"
and "I'll never hurt you's".
I feel like I am slowly excercising demons
unwittingly
without ever really wanting to.

Anger is an escape but it stops understanding, beyond raw emotion and like adrenaline we become addicted to what is a drug and a very nice one that leaves you deflated without a regular dose

Even if anger is controlled there always will there be someone on an ego trip to propel anger for their ends

I'll post an old poem - a ninety niner because it is relevant.

Your words took me back to it and it isn't just an excuse bring out "old Dad's records" again as Gordon Lightfoot once sang:

When tiredness is your master
The world becomes your soul
When anger is your mistress
And you a bad whole

When talk is with yourself
But shouldn't ever be
When nothing is the matter
But you can't let the world go free

When you sleep because you must
But sick of your life - a waste
Why should you sleep for want
Why is there so much haste

You are supposed to be grateful
That you are in demand
And loud-mouths with loud braces
Think the world is their behind

But still the tiger drags
You kissing up it's tail
Until you hit the tree
Forget your thoughts - prevail

Find the inner sense
Balance with the void
Find the peace you know how to get
Avoid this senseless noise
