Eyes Closed

Eyes closed _
between pillow
and midnight reflection ...
I recall that embrace

An embrace in time
caught in hesitant sigh
pausing
before infant breath release

reflecting
in the slow slide
of touch upon silent breeze

Locked
within the essay of gaze
as we wrote
the pages of introduction
to this manuscript.

This manuscript
written
from a single embrace
that toured
the passions of our hearts
and gave passage ...
free passage
to journey all paths

A passport to discovery
that held mysteries
of explore
to our lips
offering resolution
to this hunger

A hunger
that had lingered
just one breath too long
and gave spirit
to freedom of quench
to this thirst driven
starvation

Eyes closed_
between pillow
and midnight reflection ...
where each touch
each embrace
each kiss
gives birth
to the script
of a new chapter

I recall that embrace

Mark Christopher

What a wonderfully expressed recollection - poetry in motion - thanks for the journey.

Mark, this is so softly tender and beautiful, very romantic.
You wear romance well.

Susan - Thank you and I am glad you enjoyed the journey of recollection.

Midnitesun - Well as long as we have to wear it eventually, might as well look our best when we do.  Thank you dearly.

Karen - More than happy to share with you anytime.  No peaking plese. Thanks sweet one.

Donna - Or at least the recollection of one.  Thank you much.

DS - Well we do need to stop frame now and then if only to wipe the sweat from the palms do we not?  Thank you kind sir.

Sy - Yes I do and maybe I need to laminate this next pillow.  Drool is a pain first thing in the morning.  Thanks for the visit and you kindness.

Martie - Some might say the best time to do so.  Thanks my sweet poetess of the pier.

passing shadows - Glad to be back and thanks for digging the archives for me as well.

Donna - Thanks for the double dip and as for the email, well as you know, I chose not to share that some time ago.  Get's too confusing for a cowboy to try and write and ride at the same time.

Marge - You know, if ya dress em up, then you really can make sound lovely, but none the less, they are just words.  All depends in what garb ya put em in.  Thank you much.

SEA - Thank you for seeing the beauty in it.  Much appreciated.

Snow - Well, of course you may print it out and I am honored you would wish to do so.  I thank you for your response and I hope there was some level of cleansing in those tears.  Thank you also for the link suggest.  I will check it out.

Enchantress - Exactly it, but a wait well worth it and one that lingers.  Thank you much and so nice to see you here also.

Eyes closed _
between pillow
and midnight reflection ...

=============================
what a perfect opening...a lovley soft poetic hook to draw the reader in...
and how cool can one personification be?

An embrace in time
caught in hesitant sigh
pausing
before infant breath release

=================================

I think this verse is the at the heart of the poem, the depth from where it comes, and again such poetically strong, impressive
use of personifi and analogy...

"infant breath release"

excellent...perfect....

reflecting
in the slow slide
of touch upon silent breeze

she sells sea shells by the sea shore and sighs at your poetry.
Awesome assonance...makes the read smooth as silk.

Locked
within the essay of gaze
as we wrote
the pages of introduction
to this manuscript.

This manuscript
written
from a single embrace
that toured
the passions of our hearts
and gave passage ...
free passage
to journey all paths

======================

I love the writing analogy...
writing the manuscript of your heart on time with an embrace...now how cool is that.

essay of gaze

and I LOVE that personifi and image...
how clever and original...
how poetically lovely.

A passport to discovery
that held mysteries
of explore
to our lips
offering resolution
to this hunger

A hunger
that had lingered
just one breath too long
and gave spirit
to freedom of quench
to this thirst driven
starvation

Eyes closed_
between pillow
and midnight reflection ...
where each touch
each embrace
each kiss
gives birth
to the script
of a new chapter

========================
Again...the personifications and images create the depth for the reader...
Intense, passionate, romantic...
yeppers...
me thinks you have defined a sigh groovy guy.
I love when ya do free verse...and maybe...just maybe SOMEDAY you will listen to me and learn to enjoy reading your own words. (tempermental Aquarian poets) LOL

Beautiful poetic diary of recall MC.

Did I ever tell you how much I HATE following that moth in the comment section  LOL - so just know I read it, loved it, and of course I love her too.  I was thinking however - now this is a manuscript I wouldn't mind turning the pages and reading again and am with Snow, just sighing away here.

JM - Okay, now time for me to thank the moth properly.  You always bring that insight that let's one know what part (s) of a poem strike home.  You also point out the feelings you get when reading, and notice some things that even the poet didn't realize was in there.  THAT IS HOW WE GROW, so if I am above 5' in pen now, a major part of that could be because of you.  I do so much appreciate you and your openness in replying to poetry.  Thank you don't seem enough so how 'bout I just drink a cup of raspberry tea just for you.   Thanks me sweetest of friends.

Mark dear man, what a delightful surprise to read one of your gems, I’m so rarely in the forum these days, (life has rather dragged me away from here, of late) sssshhhh don’t tell anyone I slipped in they will expect me to stay and play and I haven’t got the time. However today I popped in to send a loving hug to a friend and saw this wonderful piece by you. The flow is excellent, and as you are so good at doing you have penned a sensational poem. I swear I can almost hear the sigh wrapped within this sensual dreamy piece. Absolutely excellent work, I like it muchly.

Sleep soft
Let your breath
Leave your lips
In gentle whispers
Of sweet warmth
To be carried
On the wings
Of night
Into the depths of
Oh

Each exhale
A murmur of want
Of needful heat
Grazing
That pillow
Which carries
Your dream

Each inhale
A whisper of desire
Drawing the night
Deep into you
Through lips
Parted in a sigh
Of liquid heat

Sleep soft
And dream a dream
Of fires remember

Sleep soft

Marsha

Love and warm stuff
as always
