Rippling undulating waves on the land
cast sculpted near-parallel bands of silvery sand,
caressed by receding waters wake
and the traces our individual footsteps make.

"Tears aren’t always about weakness"

Sunrise and sunset scribes a given day
into forevermore calendars that mark our way,
as heartbeats celebrate the seconds
allocated to each, our time to share.

"Tears aren’t always about weakness"

Cloudbursts and storms sometimes obscure
beneficial ionic exchanges not readily visible,
but nevertheless there,
sweetening the breath of our earthly air.

"Tears aren’t always about weakness"

When the steps upon the sand lead us away
from the private pathway we each tread upon,
may they lead in the direction of freedom,
may they guide the tears of each soul to the One.

"Tears aren’t always about weakness"

Nicely done and so true! I knew they'd love it.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
