Maybe I am getting older, I said I would never publish this of 30 years ago - it is real in the sense that people believed years ago they could drug their children - like sending them to special camps or agreeing with doctors to do something about them, before they annoyed the neighbours - it was of someone frightened who uttered words they meant you to believe. Dave ********************************** Too Many Mountains When I met my lady I didn’t know Her family lived on Doctor’s Hope Pills until her mouth was full Life a flagellent hope A life some hours before and between Just something you might have seen When you went to bed There was nothing It was on the mantelpiece instead Ownership By whatever means Life stop this women He’ll take her away I spent the years working to get her off Then when I had One sudden cough And back with trans before I even knew They knew best They didn’t care if they blue Away from the world But always on the phone For pills they controlled No Doctor with any sense would own Am I talking druggies No I’m talking ill Of a family Who needed to control Or else their live’s stood still And to preserve their lives And all they believed They used all that they knew And decieved |

Yes, I'm afraid this sort of thing happens more often than we realise. I'm inclined to just say "physician - heal yourself" and stay away from one pill that leads to another and so on and so on. |

but for the sake of image, you make an addict for someone else to look after because you buy those moments with your neighbours that illuminate you, and society - the object you desire - ends with someone else Dave |

There are definetely too many people who are too quick to medicate simply because a person acts differently than they think they should. I have a temper (doesn't everyone?) and people tell me I need pills to calm me down when its normal things I get angry about. ![]() Enjoyed All of my impurities are right here on my sleeve. Pills and more pills. A doctor now adays takes one look at you and say you need a pill for this and a pill for that and a pill to correct the problem the first pill is giving you. Herbs and quiet time with music is my chosen path. Interesting write Dave. Bonnie ![]() |

Dave, Glad you posted this! It reminds me of children taking unnecessary meds to help them concentrate in schools. Granted, some children "may" need the medicine, but the increase over the years of those taking medicine is appalling. After thorough examination, my son was diagnosed hyperactive in kindergarten. He took medication that calmed him down at school. By the time he reached 5th grade, he had a teacher that asked us to try him without the medication--that he thought he had become "too" serious, dark. We took him off the meds and were pleased to find he does well without them now. Stimulating thoughts you wrote... miscellanea |
