It’s not like yesterday
when I knew my name
and where I slotted in
amidst the great and growing
empire of human life.

Displaced before the time to rise
my flesh encased soul
stands uncertain and unsure
where to build a home
and where to plant a seed
for best future growth.

Yet here in shifting sand
roses grow and bloom
and seedlings suckle on
the moisture of my brow
as a not quite effective
diversionary tactic.

It’s not like yesterday
when love lay like a stone
and desire a thing unknown
trailed listless on the ground
for in the storm of change
all I once considered sure
bends and collapses
under evolution’s growth.

Today un-staked I’m led into
night’s mysterious depths
where unshackled souls
revel and delight in
human anatomy.

But the night passes swiftly
and again the punishment
of the constantly recurring
simple question, “Why?”.

Why? Life's mysteries will be unveiled one day!

Very deep and beautiful write.

Thanks Margherita.  Yes, "One day" all things will be made known and we can only wait.
