Perfection

If she is you, I conjured her from some need
I think we never let go of the unfulfilled wish
Our will is weak when you are manifested so…
And who is this we?.. Am I just observing my self?
The spectator of my own existence run empty
Like the cup drained and still only you can fill
Oh please if you could be my waitress, such fate
But in the staled lights, there I watch as you dance
And I could believe without doubt that it is you
The one that gave me desire in not so many words
I chased a want with simply the color of your hair
And there she is with your hair and by chance your name
And like you and her she resembles a past I sadly left
I know that I hold on to this but it drives some strength
It links a part of me I desperately try to embrace
And you gave me that, although you may not know
It was unexpected just like these lingering thoughts,
Of which I won’t release because they are you!
And in that moment when maybe I should approach
I hesitate because, I know somehow she isn’t you
It is a wonder that I could possible think this,
Because like her, I don’t even really know you!
But in this heart of hearts I believe I do, or could
Because your voice spoke to me in that simple song
And in this affection, I think you are perfection,
Yes I think you are perfection!.
Yes these words will live with me,
even though you could not.

I see him and I'm wondering
what could bring him where he's from?
Could I glance a look like hers
could I brace a tray she does?

Dervish dancing devil be,
beer, with just the the hint of me
trailing laughter my behind
and the thought that I was kind
with a lashes battering
flashing just a flounce...

I see.

Have anuthah beer suh?

*battin' eyelashes*

Next one's on me.

James

I liked the words but to be honest I often lost the message and had to go back and back.

Perfection is in the eye of the beholder ~ and can remain in one's heart beyond the perfect one's presence.

serenity, no batten necessary, I'd love to take you up on that beer.

Dave, well I think you got it exactly, i've often lost this message and keep going back and back.

Earth Angel, of this I know. It stays in the heart.

I don't think I've ever read a poem with this many great lines.  Really enjoyed the read...

Excellent read throughout but the above lines really had an impact because I do know where you are coming from exactly in those.  So very nice to be reading you again.

We all look for that perfect woman of our thoughts, Parker, if I am reading this right....or perhaps looking for the one in the present that can fill the need for the one of the past. There are a lot of ways of reading this and every ways fits - makes it an excellent poem in my book

This makes me kind of sad, because she is a substitute for her, and it's hard to come in second.  Yet I understand, to, the drive to fulfill a need -

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

Duncan, thank you.

Mark, thank you very much, its very nice to be writing again if just once.

Balladeer, thank you. It this book thing a new option on the site. And yes this one has a couple of different meanings, and angles and maybe a sock thrown in for good measure.

Susan, holding on to any part of ones past may seem like it puts others in second place but it could just be a link to those things that you loved about someone and maybe a way to identify the good things in someone new. But since I have no idea about what i'm talking about I don't know

Paula, its nice to be missed. And getting things right is there a right?

Leej, thanks for the compliment.

Sea, its nice to be back for a post and to seem such familiar names... any new tats.

msrascalx, thanks.

Yes, love..we let our minds wonder from time to time to the things we believe will be...one day...the dreams we dream...the hopes, the desires....

i'm feeling this one..

enjoyed!
