Hawaiian Rain

Guam rain,
it soaks you
until you feel
like a wet rat,
and then it
gives you more
until you're feeling
like a fat wet cat.

Hawaiian rain,
it doesn't wet you
to the bone,
it just lightly
taps you on the shoulder,
gives you a soft Aloha kiss,
and then it leaves you alone.

When I visited Maui I had one of those, raining on one side of the street and not on the other, experiences. Rain is wonderful there, like everything else! I enjoyed your poem and the memory it brought me.
