Green Eyes My love in the skies my love in the day the stars align behind your eyes shining night blue showing me a way back into you green, green, green eyes Half empty bed and a cold park bench I am inhabiting these places writing my longing for you on cafe napkins I am sending you roses and lace in the morning when the chilly blue air tiptoes up your fire escape you will find reminders of me there and what will you think of me then my love in the words I love to write about you the sun shines on me and the birds shining afternoon bright guiding me back to you back into the light of your green, green, green green eyes Half full teacup and a cold April day I am inhabiting empty places writing my songs for you on the clouds sending you poor sketches of your face in the night when the dark violet breeze crawls to you in your bed you will find reminders of my pleas and what will you think of me then my love in your world my love I left with you let the moon shine over this girl shining how I feel pulling the waves in to you back into what's real back into your spring green green, green, green eyes the love I left with you shining in green eyes "Poets are all who love, who feel great truths, and tell them; and the truth of truths is love." --Philip James Bailey |
