have reworked this poem - I think it has a better meaning and flow - your comments are welcomed - thanks  ‘I see’ you said but your never opened your eyes ‘I heard’ you said but your ears were closed I spoke and you disregarded me I left and you didn’t notice me gone ‘Come back’ you said but your words were too late ‘I love you’ you said but there was nothing left to love Now I breathe a different air Now I see more clearly without you Now I hear every bird that sings Now I speak and my words are acknowledged Now I stay and I am welcomed Now I love and I am loved in return Roniece Dawson-Bruce |
