Listening to every heart

0 posted 2004-09-22 07:17 PM

Every word I heard…

My Muse has been this way, today,
Every word
I heard
Has curved itself around my gray,
A vine, tenderly entangling my thoughts,
But as impish as a will o’the wisp, that word has flown,
To be replaced
By another, and Muse, chuckles…

In enacting mundane activities, for there is no
Nuclear reaction here…
It is much too simple for the likes of Muse
To lay a word
At my feet,
And watch me as I bend over
To pick it up…

Muse is amused that way…

But it seems, every word I have heard,
Every quote quoted,
All clichés, unclitched…have

Toggled the gray to refrain…

To in some way reframe processes of mind’s eye
To see through those fogs
That wisp with cool air, and moisten eyes,
And heavy our hearts…so much so, while we would hide,
We would also seek…

A pulling time, it is, between baby oil and powders
To the thought of depends,
To have to depend on another so much so,
That we cannot take care of ourselves, and lose, somehow
That granted right of independence.

Every word I heard today
Turned somehow into a poem
That fell away
Into curves, entanglements,
And baby oil.

In a strange bed cotton noise
Struggling with the pleasure
of freedom
words
on those dancing streets
cold saturday morning
soho in retreat
imports there
for delight to come
magic in the morning
and only just begun

*clapping*

:It is much too simple for the likes of Muse

To pick it up…"

I was thinking, "yeah, they ARE a bit naughty that way,"

then I read:

"Muse is amused that way…"

MUSES! Hrmph...they are just like PEOPLE some times!

laughs and hugs,

and hey lady, light a candle for yourself this autumnal equinox...and place it in a high place that the light may shine, illuminating others, as is your gift.

Karilea
Don't have time for a proper reply, so I'll just say I enjoyed this poem...

Come read to me some poem,
Some simple and heartfelt lay,
That shall soothe this restless feeling
And banish the thoughts of day.

My muse seems to come at the oddest time.
Driving down the highway at 60 MPH. Wrong place to have something come to mind.
On the phone with a customer who has a million questions. Another wrong place.
This is a good one.

Interesting, thoughtful read - sometimes there are those days-

To read you is to read evolution itself.  I liked the musing in this, and agree, it was a deeply thoughtful write.   SILLY jo

I am so very glad that your muse never lets you be silent...

As usual Karilea, you write a lovely poem. And, I enjoy reading them, even though I don't always reply.

A very captivating write.
You have such a sharp perception. The Muse knows and plays.
