In New Zealand Amongst the Ancient Trees

It’s not an earthquake
that makes me shake,
but a yearning
to feel your hand in mine,
learning,
to watch the sun rise
in a land
other than mine.

Perhaps in time
not only hands
but hearts
will entwine
learning
to watch the sun rise
in the lands
of yours and mine.
