Midnitesun's Adventure
By Larry Chadwick
Pure fiction...the names of the guilty have been changed to protect the innocent

(That's how she said it happened!)

Once upon a time,
In a land very far away,
Was a lady with a camel,
Who liked to ride in the desert all day.

She had wandered all around the world,
And found herself in the mid-east.
A Sheik had offered her some food,
He said, “It was going to be a feast.”

Finally when her tummy was so full,
She laid down to take a little nap.
And when she awoke and tried to leave,
She found it was a trap.

She was angry and got all mad,
Did her best to freak the sheik when she tried to scare’im.
But he refused to budge an inch,
She would be a member of his harem.

So in the middle of the night,
She snuck out so that she could get away.
Thank goodness she had her own camel,
Because she wasn’t going to stay.

She rode as fast as she could go,
Traveling by the midnitesun.
She rode and rode and rode some more,
Until it was no longer any fun.

They rode so hard the camel died,
She skinned him there and felt she was a meanie.
Her clothes got ragged and indecent,
Thank goodness for the camel hair bikini.

She traveled east for years and years,
Until she came to the ocean shore and water.
But she got a canoe and did not stop,
Paddled to Alaska where she had her daughter.

That is the story of our midnitesun,
And how she got her hairy tan line.
We are glad you returned to the states,
Forget the trauma…you’ll be fine.

LARRY! Now that IS a much funnier tale than the REAL one.
Does this mean I need to retell that tale?
(And I KNOW you're still hoping to see that camel hair bikini photo.)

LeeJ,
Thanks.

And Kacy,
It seems I cannot cajole you into sharing. So I thought I'd try shame or humiliation. But so far me inbox is still empty!

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Shame or humiliation? LOL, I am no longer swayed by such threats, not since I passed the age of no-deposit, no-return. LOL.
Meanwhile, I'm searching all my ancient photos to see IF I ever had such a picture, to make sure it gets permanently destroyed. Most of my Middle East photos were abducted by the ex.
I did keep one of me standing in front of a small market in Hadera, Israel, and also one of me 'cotton jumping' with my Swiss friend Suzi...sorry, 'twas not a bikini day. Wanna know more about the 'cotton jumping' episode??? LOL
