Yes, I posted this before, but it's revised, and there are so many new people here, I'd like to know what they think of this too. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ He watches her walk away, Watches her walk outside. She looks back as if to say, "I wish you hadn't lied." His tears hit the floor, Time after time again. Thinking of the vowels he swore, To never cause her pain. But now they're broken, And he relives the past. All the hateful words spoken, Had been their very last. After that last fight, they hadn't seen each other. She lays in bed and cries at night, Wishing it had been another. She lost her best friend, and she had lost her husband too. But she has a broken heart to mend, and a lot of fixing to do. So with a mask that hid the pain, She walked away from what was wrong. And as she walked she broke the chain, that had held her there so long... Dedicated to Gentle Spirit. So with a mask that hid the pain, She walked away from what was wrong. And as she walked she broke the chain, that had held her there so long... Remarkable ending and concept of how we can change our entire lives around...also agree whole heartidly with MGroves.... Thank you for sharing. |

OMG Staci...You didn't let me read this before, and if you posted it, I didn't see it. I don't have the words....it touches me deeply and to know that you understand the reasons why helps me to be certain I was not/am not alone. Some days I can still hear those hateful words like a haunting, but have finally learned to hear them and not listen as I did then. I love you Stac.... thank you.... and like Travis sings.. I swear I heard those shackles snap the moment that I took that path, I never have one time looked back since the morning I arose... NO MORE LOOKING OVER MY SHOULDER...
