The waltz went on through starlit night Two souls blending to become one Time slipped silently through the hour glass Until the sands prompted the return of the Sun In the twilight of magic just before the dawn As the spell woven began to pale Two lovers paused, holding hearts in hand Wishing ever in this fantasy to dwell Yet as is true, all stories must end And this one bears no change The sun arose to light the land And the enchantment then did fade The squire stood now in light of day The meadow quiet and still The phantom cast of his lady love Had faded, forsaking him to the chill He wrapped his cloak tighter about And donned his hat upon his head And in sorrows shade he left the lea To return to his lonely path tread I hear you sigh, I hear your moan How can a tale have such an end Never fear my companions dear Once more, I bid your attention lend For when the squire returned to home You must note to his great surprise There upon his front porch step A true beauty caught his eye She stood most fair, a lovely sight With chestnut locks aglow And a violet gaze most innocent And soft full lips of red red rose How she came to be there then Is another tale, someday perhaps I’ll share But know this now, my dearest friends ‘Twas surely the fairy folk most fair Always believe in impossibilities In enchantment and dreams come true Now here we go, the fire’s grown cold And it’s time to bid you adieu s.a.t. Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |

You are either an inherent story teller, or Magnus has given you some wonderful inspiration to go by...I enjoyed each part! |

Thank you all - most kind. Sunshine, I credit Barry with the idea of a poem broken into parts and of course he is a master of the story telling, so he is an inspiration to me, I can get lost in his works. I have, however, written stories, though not in a poetic form, for many years previously. So perhaps his magic has rubbed off on me and I once again can spin a tale I'm happy you all enjoyed this, it was fun to write. Hugs - Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |
